MiniMed Paradigm™ Veo™ (554/754) Insulin Pump
Advanced performance for greater diabetes control
Feature Specication Benets
Medtronic Bolus Wizard™
Calculator
Recommends a bolus dose based on your
personal settings, current blood glucose level,
food intake and the amount of active insulin
in your body. Includes insulin-to-carbohydrate
ratio, insulin sensitivity and blood glucose
targets
Reduces the risk of human error and complicated
diabetes calculations to make dosing easier
Adjustable active insulin

Select between 2 and 8 hours The pump considers your active insulin time
setting in determining any active insulin still in your
body from prior boluses. This may help prevent
hypoglycaemia caused by over-correcting for high
blood glucose
Blood glucose target ranges Program BG target ranges into your insulin
pump. Recommends correction doses when
your blood glucose goes outside the range
Helps keep your blood glucose levels within your
personalised target range by recommending
necessary correction doses
High and low blood glucose
alerts
When your insulin pump receives high or
low results, it automatically displays helpful
management tips
Help you stay on target for maximum glucose
control

or elevated insulin resistance
3 bolus delivery options Normal, Square Wave or Dual Wave More closely matches your insulin delivery to the
food you eat
Basal rates and patterns 3 patterns, 48 rates each Set the pattern and rate to match your days
activities
Basal rate range 0.025 to 35.0 units per hour Suitable for those requiring very low amounts of
basal insulin (e.g. very young children or insulin
sensitive users) ranging up to those with high
insulin demands or have elevated insulin resistance
Temporary basal rate Increase or decrease by percent or set the
insulin pump at any rate for 30 minutes, up to
24 hours
Adjust insulin easily in response to stress, illness, or
changes in your activity levels
Blood glucose testing
reminders
Built into your bolus menu; set to remind
yourself 30 minutes to 5 hours after eating
Even if you forget to test your BG level, your insulin
pump won’t

for immediate review, view up to 31 days of your
personal history on your insulin pump screen
